Default Rockrider custom body panels

I am proud of these panels. They are aluminum and I made them today. Pretty simple but i am happy with the results. What do you think? P.s I had to use whatever hardware I had on hand. I plan on using all button head screws later on.

Looks good! Nice job! I like to use aluminum or thin metal for my chassis too, just looks cooler.

Hey guys thanks for all of the positive comments. I still need to clean up the roof panel a little. I also just made a esc mount that fits on top of the rear upper links. It is like the ones they sell but it was free I want to get some cool stickers too. The ones on it are the only ones I could find.

looks great. I like to use .010"" thick aluminum because you can cut it with a good set of sharp scissors.

Oh yeah that is a good idea. I used 24 gauge and cut the rough shape out with tin snips. Then smoothed the edges with a Dremel. It does make it easier for me being that I work in a sheet metal fab shop (HVAC) so I have all kinds on things on hand. I thought of using copper for the panels but they wouldn't last one run but they would be pretty. I made this louver the other day. The small ones are tricky but the bigger ones go together nicer. Sorry for going off subject

I like the Aluminum as well. It provides some pretty sturdy protection. My bastard jr. chassis is light weight and the Alum. top gives it more protection and makes a great place to mount electronics. I used stickers fron XXX Main, and just cut out what I wanted.

That does look good. I'm waiting on an edge with plastic panels to get here. I'll use the plastics as patterns and cut some aluminum panels myself too.

Has anyone tried forming the top panel convex? That would help with roll overs. Should be able to beat it to shape with a body hammer and a shot bag.

I was doing to do that on the roof panel but wanted to get the basic panel shape. I did not have the side or top panel to use as templates I had to use cardboard

Nice work on the aluminum panels. I also think the aluminum looks better when the pieces are cut to fit like you have done.

Good job!

And there ain't nothing better when you take her for her first spin on the rocks.
