Default slingshot, revo shocks, tire rub problems??

i have a slingshot with revo shocks and a ckrc bta steer kit...the shocks are upside down and there are no spacers at the top where they attach to the chassis...soooo the problem is when i turn the tires lock to lock they rub the springs like crazy...is there a fix for this and how??

Mine rub the springs also. Not too much, I backed off the end points for the steering just a bit so the tires would not try to grab the springs. I also used a zip tie around the end of the spring and the spring cup to help hold everything together when the tire rubs the spring. Is the shock attached between the tabs on the axle on your rig? Kinda hard to tell from the pics.

pic of mine, steering isn't at full lock in this pic but it is pretty close.

I am running losi shocks on one rig and slash front shocks on the other. No matter what i tried they both rub alittle. But just barely with the slash shocks!

the shocks are inside the axle tabs and i've changed my end points so it does not rub bad....but that takes away alot of steering that i could be using....i was just wandering if there was a fix or trick for this problem...

this is what i did. used revo shock rod ends and mntd them like you see.inside the chassis. and mntd the bottoms on the inside of the tabs on the axles.

rotate your pinion down and clock your axle "c"s back. with all that positive caster how does it turn? that should buy you some more turn radius.

I am just using jato shocks with my SS and the tires used to rub axial rims. So I tried using berg offset wheels and now the tires barely touch the springs even with the chisels that are taller. The slghtly extra width was also useful.

berg offsets would make them rub more and be skinnier??

Here's a solution: run without springs
slingshot + droop revo shocks = stable, low, and sticks to rocks

From what I can see, berg stock rims are more offset than axial rims. I may be wrong. I tried that droop, sag or whatever and it just is not for me. Rig is very unpredictable for my taste.

You could always run internal springs and not have to worry about tire rub. Thats how I have my GTR shocks setup.

Could'nt find that part #?

Are there any issues with the spring doing damage to the bladder inside the shock?

So far havent seen any damage. Here is the spring set http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/ite...oduct-id=40501
I used it full length. With the little bump stop on the shock the spring doesnt compress all the way and there is no binding. If you want to be sure it doesnt damage the bladder you can sand the end of the spring smooth and that should keep any sharp edges from puncturing the bladder.
