Default I Keep breaking the link rod ends !!!

Unfortunatly the lower & upper link rod ends keep destroying themselves on my crawler.

I'd like to know which rod ends you'd recomend as an upgrade, bearing in mind that the originals are angled.

Cheers,

Brucie

You can use the 3mm Maxx rod ends or switch to links that use 4mm studs and Revo ends. Most of the guys around here run the bigger Revo or Jato ends, myself included.

well if the screws are popping out and blowing out the hole on the plastic ends, you need to screw more of the set screw into the end. Only have about 1/3 of it sticking out to screw onto the link.

put the threads in the rod ends first, thread about half way. That's how I do it, never had problems with rod ends. I never used different rod ends on my axial rigs unless I used a non axial chassis that came with different rod ends.

Thanks for the replies fella's

I wasn't sure how or why they were stripping but it seems the links are fouling on the shock bottoms (the spring seats) so i'm going to raise up the spring seats slightly and see how i get on.

I think I'm definatly screwing the grubscrews in as deep as they will go, I use a fine Hex key to determin the depth before I screw in the grubscrew.

Another problem iI have now spotted is that my rear shocks are fouling slightly on the esc which is mounted on a lexan plate thats mounted ontop of the rear upper arms.
So I'm going to try and re-position that as well.

I might move the esc to sit on top of the rear axle 4link mount, might try make a small case/cover to protect the esc from being damaged incase of rollover or tipping.

Cheers for the info and advice.

Brucie.

sounds like you are having all sorts of problems, looks as though you just need to reposition a few things on your linkage...if you cant figure it out-post up some pics and I am sure someone here can get you going

why are you using angled rod ends on your links?

are they all angled (all 16) or just a few?

you gotta use a driver to get the allthread into the end itself for the best results.

also dont pscrew them in to far, i made that mistake many times.
