IMHO I don't think that is going to be helpful, all It really seems to do is change your pinion angle. and I don't think that is a good thing.

not a very good idea all that is letting the axle do is move the pinon up and down. It could be very unpredictable.

The only thing that will do is bust driveshafts.

The concept behind suspension links is to have a controlled axle movement. With that setup, it goes where it wants when it wants. Definitely not a good idea.

And who gave this thread 5 stars?

Not a good idea, but I see where you are going with this. If you could pre-load the axles when climbing it could keep the tires from unloading maybe? It would just make the truck too unpredictable. Besides the fact the axle would walk side to side because you dont have that solid triangulation anymore. I just adjusted my pinion angle in the rear to as close to a straight line as possible and get my caster as close to perpendicular to the ground as I can. I like the "outside the box" aproach though.

in a three or four link suspension system, the lower links locate the axle and the upper link(s) set the pinion angle. Replacing the upper links with shocks will just introduce axle wrap into the equation (thats bad).

Where you do see a setup like that is in a leaf sprung suspension system. Leaf springs by nature allow axle wrap, so a lot of drag racers and others with go-fast cars and leafs in the rear will install a shock (not a regular suspension shock, though) like that to help control the axle wrap. Crawlers, on the other hand, aren't worried about going fast so usually they'll just use a ladder bar instead.

A little bit of axle wrap is not a disaster, but that is way too much!

I once had a car with a four link and coil sprung rear end, and had dampers under the lower links. They didn't prevent axle wrap, but they eliminated the choppiness under hard acceleration, made it feel glued to the road. I can see that if set up properly it could do that for a crawler too, but do ya think you need to?

Cheers.

I think MEDIC used stiffly sprung shocks on his rig as upper links, but he used it with a dig to get more "bite" for the rear tires. You should PM him for his thoughts and ideas.

thank you very much , I watch Medic video on youtube and I had a pair of old buggye shocks and give a try without dig but I already give up the idea , IŽll keep it simple like everyone does , or almost everyone
