if your on a budget just use the stock chassis. you dont need an aftermarket chassis to be competitive.

chassis help but tires and weight can make a huge difference, making sure your battery is down low along with most if not all your other electronics. Knowing you budget might help a bit but all the things i stated would cost at most $75 and a probably double the performance of the rig.

Oh and depending on the kit you are using shocks or at least some springs

It really depends on how much you raised it, you want to have good ground clearance but you don't want that to hurt you if and when you come up to a side hill part of the course.

On my axial i have it mounted on a plastic plate on the upper links i used one of those plastic parts boxes and cut it up.

Dig and tires are probably more important than lipo, i used a 2 cell lipo on my axial since day one but nimh saddle packs will get the job done just as good, if you have a lipo charger already than pick up a pack or two if you only have a nicd or nimh charger go with the saddle pack. If you do go with lipo get the Hyperion lipos i have a couple and are awesome and fairly cheap for a brand name lipo pack.

for the chassis i would go with a mayhem ls2.0 its awsome and only 55 bucks shipped

ho much did you jack it up?
i run mine at two and a half inches of ground cleance(belly) and it works well
also i would look at the rules and chop that body up as much as you can
and get it a low as posible also move your body post i think there is a thread somewere about this mabey its a sticky?

Official RC Crawler Rules 2005-2010

you can go min of 3 inches high
min of 12.5 inches long
and a min of 5inches wide

Don't go with a cheap dig you will never be satisfied with it. A good DNA dig is about 80.00 bucks.
