Personally, I like Castles stuff. They're also the only brand you listed without a history of catching on fire. For motors, you can't go wrong with either Holmes Hobbies or Brood. Best two builders on the market. |

I really like the BR-XL ESC with Holmes motors. You can have John put together a "combo" for you here: Holmes Hobbies Last edited by C*H*U*D; 04-25-2011 at 09:01 AM. |

wow, you never searched Novak on here did you. Look at Holmes Hobbies. John will get you going right. Then have a look at the hitec 7954. Not super expensive but it has a shit load of torque.

i like to pick up a combo, because i'm kind of a begginer in electrics, and i'm affraid not to pcik the wrong ESC and wrong motor.that's way if i get a combo,i don't have to worry that the ESC doesn't fit the motor

A Sidewinder will handle nearly any motor you throw at it, and it is a proven performer. Pair that with a good motor and you will be happy. Holmes Hobbies has the Torquemaster esc, which is a variant of the Castle esc's, and is also very good, but is not capable of running a brushless motor, though it will handle more voltage and has a stronger internal bec. I would talk to HH and see what he can put together for you. You won't be disappointed.

| Nearly everything on his site is for crawlers. If you aren't sure on something, search around here on RCC and see what others are using.

I agree with duuuuuuude on the hh stuff. I am currently running a Holmes hobbies br-xl esc. I did some research and really liked the hh br-xl. As stated above, it doesn't run brushless, but in a crawler brushless seems like a waste of time anyway. It already has a built in bec, which in lamence terms if you don't already know, it supplies the servo with 6 volts instead of the 4-5 volts that other escs normally do. This means you servo will be stronger. The brxl also has one he'll of a drag brake with the Holmes hold. It also can handle up to 6s lipo which is rated at 22.2 volts, way more power than you would ever put in a crawler anyway. It also works with castle software and the castle link, which from what I have read and experienced is way easier than any of the other escs. I just received my new pro handwound 45 turn hh motor. I havn't put it in yet, but I will be sure to tell you the results once I get it up and running. I am sure I won't be disappointed. If nothing else, do some research on here and find something that fits your needs.

go with a novak set up or castle novak has a good set up the rooster brushed setup with a 45t or a 55t or you can go with the goat brushlees set up but for a crawler i would make sure with brshless to get something that is sensored you will get better responce out or them
