| Caster, Clocking and C-hubs
I just installed the Hot Racing inner C's and they only added a couple degrees (maybe 2 degrees) of caster. I have my axles clocked slightly to get more clearance from the front driveshafts but I think I have negative caster now (kingpins leaning forward). I think I'll back it down to about 0 caster for now. So my questions are: 1. Approximately how many degrees of caster is recommended? 2. What inner C's can I look at to get more caster? 3. Is having the driveshaft lower than the front links going to give me a lot of problems? Thanks in advance. |

Make sure you have the C's on the correct side, sounds like you might have them on the wrong side which will cause what you are describing. Got any pics?

i believe the C's are to allow you to have a better shaft angle without crazy neg. caster. I run maybe a degree if not two of pos. caster. I feel it helps keep you from pushing over your front tires, like in a real vehicle. Zero caster and neg caster is the last thing you want with all the torque in thies things.

I'm sure I have them on the right way. Seems Hot Racing did both sides the same and you have to use the right set of holes for each side or you end up with lots of negative caster. I guess I'll shorten my top links some, go with a bit of positive caster and let the driveshaft jut out a little. Thanks for all the help. Just didn't know what angle to start with. |
