I would recomend getting the artr. It comes with bent links in the rear as well as the straight axle in the rear. And someone correct me if I am wrong I think it also has the heavy duty steel locker. The only downside I see with the artr is the coarse thread hardware and nylon nut. it's an easy fix though.

I think the ARTR is a better choice as well.

Here is a chart of the differences on Axial's site. See Here

I would say your first upgrades should be weight in the tires and better tires. The hot bodies rovers work really well and are inexpensive. Aluminum knuckles and C's are a worthwhile investment. I've broken all the stock axial driveshafts I've ever had, stampede drive shafts are a direct replacement and are noticeably stronger. Those things will help a lot.

A upgraded chassis is a good upgrade and will improve performance significantly. There are a lot of good choices out there, I'm very happy with my mayhem LS2.0, the axial SWX is a proven performer, and there are many more out there that work. I'd say go to a local comp and see what people are using, everybody is pretty helpful and cool at every comp I've ever been to

If your planning on comping, you might want to go to a 45 or 35 turn motor, and you would need a long list of other stuff two. Alum. front end parts and a dig are a must. Tires are another must have, you might want to look at the new panthers, look pretty good!

Good luck!
