Default New Rovers - and a new COG

I have an axial that I am somewhat trying to improve. I had some 2.2 flat irons that wern't working as well as other tires I've seen - so I decided to go with the Rovers. I knew they were bigger, just didn't know how much. Wow. A LOT BIGGER. After replacing my 55t with a 65t last night, I got the gearing down. Now the big problem is COG.
Is the easiest way to fix this a SWX chassis?
My stock axial shocks were already internally limited with 1/2" or so fuel tubing. I replaced that with about 3/4" to 1" of fuel tubuing to drop it down even further.
I do really like the COG now, but the articulation is horrible. I'm running the white axial springs. Is there a shorter spring that works with these?
I took out the spring buckets and it seems lots better. But I'm not leaving it like that.

When you say COG you mean ground clearance to the bottom of the skid plate correct? If so, you are probably going to want to go with so shorter shocks. Losi 4" crawler shocks like on the LCC is a great way to go. This will lower your ride height and not lose that much articulation if you want a lot.

Center of gravity - yea, belly height. I now understand that the stock axial chassis doesn't provide the mounting choices that are needed for shock placement.
Yea - that was my next question - the losi shocks. So they are a shorter stroke/length?

When I went from stock shocks to the Losi 4" my belly dropped almost a full 1/2". At first I thought it was too much, but I got used to it. If you do go Losi's make sure to get a delrin skid at the same time. The stock skid really drags and hangs with the lower GC.

LOL....yea, I know. Moral of the story - my COG has changed for the worse as well as my belly height due to the larger meats.
So do I build some upper frame extension/shock mounts to keep my axial shocks, or just pick-up a SWX chassis.
Thanks for the Losi info - so they are quite a bit shorter.

I went to the SWX and love it. My truck has never crawled so good. RPP Hobby was running them on sale for $65. I just checked his new site and it shows the regular price, but Corey posted that some of his sale prices haven't showed up on the new site yet. Try giving him a call and see if it's still on sale. For me it's the best upgrade I've done so far.
