Default ax10 with losi 4" shock confusion.

So i recently upgraded from stock shock's on my ax10 scorpion to the 4" losi rock crawler shocks.
Really like the shocks, but my best belly height is 2". Common or not?

has 2.2 bead lock wheels with losi rock claws.bent links front and rear, stock chassis .

thanks to all.

And you threaded the adjuster nut down to add some preload on the springs? This will help keep it up.

You could redrill lower holes on the chassis to mount them at...?

The losi shocks are shorter than stock, so yes, you'll get a lower ride height. The AX10 sits too high for my taste stock anyways.

One trick you can use to get a little more ride height is to cut the mount off the top of the shock, drill a hole in the middle, run a bolt through the hole from the inside and stick a rod end on the bolt with some RTV to seal the hole up. That should give you a little more height

another way would be to get some rod ends that are longer to replace the ones on the shock shafts.

Bingo! This is a very simple way to fix your ride height.

when i put the losi shocks on my rig i was worried about the lower clearance but after a few timew out crawlin i got used to it and now i wouldnt go back to the stock axial shocks. losis are way softer and ride better.

Really? That seems a tad excessive when all you really need to do is get longer rod ends for the ends of the shafts....Have you ever done what you are proposing? This seems like a problem waiting to happen...

No it's not a problem in fact it helps in more ways than one. You get a little longer shock, you get a ball end to allow smoother movement than fuel tube thru the end. If sealed up right it shouldn't leak.

I'll "times" in on that. Did that cap mod to some traxxas shocks that I'm going to run on my Bully. My CDW rig had the shorter Losi's with that mod as well. MUCH easier to mount and yeah, they flow like butter.

HPI part number 85050 Savage shock rod end kit. I've used them on my crawlers and they are great. Use the 4 in the lower right hand part of the picture and the spring cups.

i just put the losi shock on as well and not only does it seem a bit low even with the chisels on it. but i lost a ton of flex, you can only flex the front like 3 inches before it pries to pull the rear off the ground. it has the white springs but it seems a bit stiff, is this normal?

Be sure to check your wheel base when you lower your rig.It "normally" makes it longer but that's only a prob if you plan to run comps.
