Default 2/3A cells, Losing out?

If i go to a 2/3A pack, and stay at 7.2v, am I losing anything. I don't "see" any difference other than size?? I have a new pack from my rc8mt I would like to use. I want to go lipo, but don't want to spend the money for a ESC, and BEC at the moment. I put my 11.1v tower liop on it the other day and i seemed to do OK. Why can't I use it? I have a RTR, Stock ESC, Integy 55t, T-pro Mg955.

Thanks, I am so confused

Oh yeah, I have an extra Mamba 25 BL ESC and micro motor, but not a 550 BL. any thing usable there?

They have higher internal resistance as compared to larger cells. You may lose some punch.

You could use the lipo, but be careful of running it down since the stock ESC doesn't have voltage cutoff.

I ordered some of the cheapo voltage buzzers off ebay, so we well see how good they are. otherwise i will get the novak cutoff, cause $25.00 is a lot cheaper than buying a new ESC for 13 R/C's

2/3a packs loose punch fast. Great on putting the weight where you want but not really worth the 30 bucks. They get around 15 to 20 min of runtime on my ax10 but loose punch after the first 3 min.

I am pretty sure your stock esc cant handle a 3 cell lipo
I run a 7 cell 2/3 pack and love it, It has more punch than my 2 cell lipo and last along time too, You can have them custom made here http://www.cheapbatterypacks.com/?me...30DE&sid=22434 and they are pretty cheap too I like the elite 1500 cells

You can run a 2 cell lipo but like stated above you must watch your cell voltage and it doesnt drop below 3v per cell unless you like your crawler flame broiled they do cell some lip[o adapters for esc not made for lipos but I dont know how much you can trust them and by the time you spend $30 for one for only $30 or so more you can have a lipo ready esc

So if I keep running the 3 cell Lipo I will eventually fry the ESC?, even if monitoring the voltage? I tried it the other day, and it ran fne for about 15 minutes, then I took it off t check the voltage on my multimeter.

So, I am sure my CC Mamba-25 ESC can handle the brushed Integy 55t,?? But how would I wire it?? ESC= 3 motor wires, 55t= 2 motor wires.

thanks!!

what is the volts input specs on your esc if it doesnt say more than 11 volts you can fry it. if it does say more than as long as you check the volts when yoiur running you should be okay but be carefull. I run a 2 cell in my mrc with a stock esc and just watch the voltage. but I would never go 3 cell. even my novak rooster crawler wont handle 3 cell lipo

From what Ive read, The stock ax10 esc will take 3s. Get a voltage cutoff and watch your temps. Rooster Crawler, Set it to nickel metal hydride mode, and get a cutoff. I have seen it done. And it didnt fry. It only got warm, not hot, just a little warm to the touch.

I am going to try it and watch the voltage and temps. I should have said it before, but I am just bashing with it, so I don't want to tie up a lot in it. Although my RTR is anything but at this point.:?
