Default Long steering link

Are there any pros (or cons) of running a longer steering link? I see that a lot of people use a longer steering link when putting their steering servo to the side of the batteryplate.

I use a battery/4-link plate from STRC and instead of using the short link included with the plate, I thought I'd use a 70 mm link for the steering.

I installed the longer link, and it seems to me (without testing on the rocks) that it steers more equal to both sides.

I also use a longer link, 68mm. One thing I noticed for sure is that the longer link puts less stress to the knuckle. With the pastic ones I use, twisting occurs much later than with short arm. This translates to more steering for me.

A longer steering link travels on a flatter plane. the benefit of this is that since the angle of the steering link deflects less, it allows for more maximum travel.

You may have to play with the length a little to get equal travel in both directions, but it's worth the time and effort especially if you have high angle knuckles and cvd's.
