| Max servo thats sort of safe ?
With no servo saver, stock Axial plastic knuckles. At what point will a servo just bust a knuckle or rip off the flimzy steering arm ? If one bound the wheels up and still twisted the wheel. Lots of variables I know, but I know 130oz is weak, but would a 330oz servo be fine from time to time bound up, or would it snap stock parts ? |

your safe bet is a hitec 645mg or a 5645mg any stronger and you're going to start snapping parts |

Yea...if you are just bashing you only need a 645 or a little more with a 5645. You might get by with a ckrc "wiggle" servo, but if you are stock then you probably don't want to dump a lot of money into the rig anyways so a 645 would be fine

I have always ran hitec 7995's for steering in my rigs and used to run plastic knuckles. Never broke one from steering. Just broke them from tumbling 20 feet or so back down a rock face. At some point you are going to need aluminum knuckles and C's anyways. Once you add weight, you have problems with plastic. Also make sure you set end points |

Forgot to add that CKRC has some nice high clearance knuckles for about $20. Look under their AX10 section and click on CKRC products for AX10. I've been running them for a while on 2 Scorpions and have had no issues. I really beat the crap out of one of them too! Can't wait for my Felsenfest's to arrive though!!!! BTW their C's are great too! |

I ran a 250 in-oz servo for quite a while before one of the original knuckles finally broke. They flexed quite a bit. More power is definitely better when it comes to the servo. |

Now either you are very lucky or very gentle. I broke 5 plastic knuckles since I started pushing the 8711 hard and always the knuckle taht holds the drag link. Obviously that one gets more leverage than the one holding only the tie rod. All of them broke at the hole not used! | |
