Default My AX10 with my custom body mounts

S o i got my AX10 a few weeks ago installed my upgrades and stretched my brain to find a way to mount my body. I inverted the stock chassis and the shock mounts lined up on the swx chassis. It doubles as a roll cage and body mount with lots of options for bodies!

Ahhh, I dont think thats gonna work! Though you might think it works, I can tell ya its gonna suck for climbing and inverts. Too top heavy and your gonna totally screw your CG.

Go climb it and do a video. I bet it rolls like a ball on a slide

Despite it's performance, it looks cool and is a an awesome example of thinking outside of the box. This is how innovation works, you try something new and then make it work.

Don't be so quick to judge it. I have crawled with it and i can still crawl nearly vertical without flipping over even crawling up a wall I still reach the same point I did before running this setup. Aluminum doesn't weigh anything.

edit: The body I'm running weighs almost nothing its super thin. Its an antique, I got it unpainted with a Team Losi Jrx I got from a friend.

You should just buy my body mounts, I think I can beat the weight of a stock chassis, and they will be almost as strong and alot cheaper.

He's being nice. It needs to be said. IT'S GAY!!!! But nice try. You're better off getting extra set of body mounts.

Just noting here also, that you only have it attached at the tip of the chassis. It's weak and there is no side support what so ever to keep it stable. Nice idea, but,,,,,
FAIL!!! Sorry, but if you crawlin worth anything, "it will" happen. If you really want a "rollbar", buy a tuber.

I thought of this same idea earlier this year for my 'Scorpion King' project.

I call it the 'Omega Chasis'. Not sure why... I guess 'cause its round. :?

I had the idea to basically build a 'modern' Clodbuster out of an AX-10.

Its no crawler, but the idea is a good one for tire clearance in my situation!

Great minds think alike I guess!

And for the complete rig...

Its been a fun, thinking outside the box project.

Its been a fun departure for me from the AX-10 crawler project norm.

I love Clodbusters, and love AX-10's too...

So I thought Id mesh both worlds and thats what I came up with!

Its also where I place my electronics in part of a Pro-Line Frame Extention kit, attached to the upper/flipped chasis plates.

High C of G yes, but the Clod wheels and tires are so heavy, that it is more than offset. Lots of other mods have taken place since this photo... This was my original mock up.

It is a runner! I didnt just build it as a shelf queen. It will actually crawl if you ask it too. Here is an action shot from early Summer.

Next up is some big Brushless power!

Sorry for a thread highjack! I just wanted to show that I came up with the same solution, and for my needs... it worked out perfectly!

Reminds me of early days of monster trucks when they just put larger tires on miltary axles... Only good for slow car crushing... then they progress forward, not backward dude. Unless you're reliving the oldies monster trucks.
