| My AX10 with my custom body mounts
S o i got my AX10 a few weeks ago installed my upgrades and stretched my brain to find a way to mount my body. I inverted the stock chassis and the shock mounts lined up on the swx chassis. It doubles as a roll cage and body mount with lots of options for bodies! |

Ahhh, I dont think thats gonna work! Though you might think it works, I can tell ya its gonna suck for climbing and inverts. Too top heavy and your gonna totally screw your CG. Go climb it and do a video. I bet it rolls like a ball on a slide |

Despite it's performance, it looks cool and is a an awesome example of thinking outside of the box. This is how innovation works, you try something new and then make it work. |

You should just buy my body mounts, I think I can beat the weight of a stock chassis, and they will be almost as strong and alot cheaper.

I thought of this same idea earlier this year for my 'Scorpion King' project. I call it the 'Omega Chasis'. Not sure why... I guess 'cause its round. :? I had the idea to basically build a 'modern' Clodbuster out of an AX-10. Its no crawler, but the idea is a good one for tire clearance in my situation! Great minds think alike I guess! And for the complete rig... Its been a fun, thinking outside the box project. |

| Its been a fun departure for me from the AX-10 crawler project norm. I love Clodbusters, and love AX-10's too... So I thought Id mesh both worlds and thats what I came up with! Its also where I place my electronics in part of a Pro-Line Frame Extention kit, attached to the upper/flipped chasis plates. High C of G yes, but the Clod wheels and tires are so heavy, that it is more than offset. Lots of other mods have taken place since this photo... This was my original mock up. It is a runner! I didnt just build it as a shelf queen. It will actually crawl if you ask it too. Here is an action shot from early Summer. Next up is some big Brushless power! Sorry for a thread highjack! I just wanted to show that I came up with the same solution, and for my needs... it worked out perfectly! |

Having fun is what's important. Hope you're not to offended by my posts of OMG, I was just pullin yer chain. That does look like a retro monster truck now that I think about it. |
