| HPI gear reduction unit?
Im lookin at getting this for a basher/scaler setup Im building and am wondering how fast this would be with a 13.5 sensored brushless motor paired to it? I wanna have good crawling abilities but stull have enough speed to do some good rock racing too.

| Well, what's the gear reduction ratio it provides?

they are 7.4:1 ... I have one for the same reason. I figure to use mine as a transmission to a 2-3.5:1 geared tranfer case (still mulling that one over). 20:1 to the axles (2.9-3.3:1) is hitting dedicate crawler territory so I'm leaning towards a 2;1 t-case to stay on the speedier side of slow for a scaler. |

i have one going to a axial trans as a transfer case then to the 3.3:1 axial axle gears. for a final ratio of 64:1 with a 16x3 motor on 3s. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KNVFBdYJL6s my truck is the red one after it says "air time" it crawls awsome and goes about 20mph give or take. |

nice. is there any one else running these in scalers? Also. What is the 16x3 motor? Im unfamiliar with that measurement. Can you run diferent size pinions in this unit to change the overall ratio?
