Default AX10 spur gear

I bought a ax-10 trany for my scale bronco only to realise it came without the spur gear. After looking things up I realised I was missing the following items.

-spur gear
-gear adapter
-spring
-2x washer
-lock nut

I'm I missing anything and would it be worth getting the slipper clutch. I'm running a stock 27t axial motor with pede trany and tlt axles.

Some people swear by the slipper clutch while others swear it hinders them. I think it is all personal preference and how you like to drive. A slipper clutch can reduce driveline breakage, but it can also hinder you if it slips at a point where you just need a little bit more to get over an obstacle. It also depends alot on your driving style, but in the end it is preference. hope that helps.

Yeah it does help. I don't think I'm one to break much stuff but then again my truck isn't even finished yet. Guess i'll when it gets it's first miles in, but I don't think I'll be needing a clutch.

Spring? I don't remember the non-slipper trans having a spring.

I prefer to run without a slipper clutch. Common sense will tell you when you are stuck STUCK and won't be able to power out. Plus you can't really "power out" with a slipper, as it will slip.

Then again we all fall victim to the occasional "bone headed moves" and you could always play on the side of caution.

I run the slipper and haven't had a problem. I run it pretty tight.

"F" caution in the "A".

Don't use a slipper, and don't be stupid. If it looks like the tires are about to re-tread themselves, they're about to strip gears.

You're right no spring there is a spacer behind the spur gear though. I must have been looking at the rtr pdf by mistake.

Check out pg 16

I'd stay away from a metal spur. Just my opinion of course, but in my experience it's always nice to have a week spot some place in the line of power transfer. Spur gears are cheap, and if you have the gear mesh right you should rarely, if ever, strip a spur.

This is the reason I run pede drive shafts instead of steel ones as well, saves on tranny and diff gears.
