Default will not go slow

I have a stock rtc. I added 6oz to each front wheel and 4 to the back. Now I cant get it to crawl. Have to squeeze the throttle and then it goes fast, no crawling speed. Any ideas on a fix?

I could be wrong but it sounds to me like its the motor. The 27 turn stock motor doesn't have enough torque. You are having to give it to much throttle to get it to move. Kind of like a nitro engine. No torque, all wheel speed. I would suggest getting a motor with more torque and less wheel speed. I run a 55 turn novak motor. It has a lot of torque but not much wheel speed.

Did it crawl fine before you added the weight? Adding 20 ounces of weight won't effect the truck THAT much. A 27t motor will crawl just fine. I'm running a 20t turn in one truck and 35t's in another, fixen to go down in winds on that one also.

Where did you add the weight on the wheels? Depending on where you put the weight,it's possible after you tightened the wheels back up,the weights or something else is hitting/rubbing the knuckles and robbing all your power.

It has the 55t motor, and yes it crawled fine before I put the weights in. Am going to try and take the weights out and try again.

Make sure you didn't over tighten the wheels or have something else causing a bind like reflection said.

i had the same problem with mine. its the speed control. mine would thermal after a short time and that was one of the symptoms. i changed mine to a mamba max and the problem went away. you could get away with a sidewinder tho. or any other quality speed control. hope that helps

I think it is the speed control, or remote... My son has the same problem. Works fine sometimes forward and all the time in reverse, then it will only fly.

Put a set of wheels with no weights and it crawled fine, but when I put the weighted wheels on it wont crawl again, I have to give it a lot of throttle to get it going. So does this mean its the esc?

Are sure the weighted wheels are rubbing or binding somewhere...maybe the wheel nuts are to tight pushing the weights or wheel into the knuckle?....something like that.

Honestly, I can't see where 20 ounces of added weight would make a speed control act up like that. 20 pounds maybe...not 20 ounces.

I know it's not a good thing to do long term, but loosen the wheel nuts up a turn or two,run it a few minutes like that. Wheels might wobble a little, but that'd be a pretty sure fire way of telling if certain wheels are binding up on the knuckles.
