Default 2.2 Axial Tuber

Started this build a while ago and shelved it for a bit. Sad part is that I lost some build shots along the way. What I have left are a few pics of the chassis in it's first stages.

Specs:
Home Brew chassis and skid.
Axial axles and trans. Fronts will get BTA and rears are locked.
Stampeede shafts with Steel joints, also have a set of INTEGY shafts, but not too sure I'll use them.
Rooster Crawler with Novac 55T or V11 35T PRO (might make it a Rock Racer).
Stock AX10 bead locks with Proline Hammers to start.
Modded TQ3 TX/RX, have another trans with a VF Dig ??????
Evader ST rear shocks set up for 60/40 Droop with internal springs, have a few others to try if they don't wor out.
Home brew aluminum lower links, Carbon Fiber sleeved upper links with Traxxas REVO/Savage rod ends. Still looking into making bent lowers.
Custom servo/rear four link plates.

Sorry for the limited some what fuzzy pics.

More to come, comments suggestions always welcome .

Thanks.

The lower skid is bent aluminum. I made a new one last night using the wife's new cutting board, just hope she doesn't notice until I can replace it .

Should have more pics up today.

Looking back on the Fatdog, and all the great info on Duuuuuuuude's build. I have decided to redo the skid. Can only hope for the best, or atleast the best I can do with what I got!

Ran into a length issue, so I started hacking things up this weekend. Also got the shock mounts set up. Still have some clean up, and then see how things will fit. Sorry the pics are still a bit fuzzy .

Thanks for looking.

Thanks .

Figured I would see how the new changes would effet the suspension, so I threw on some parts to get it to a roller. First issue was the rear shocks. The original ones are now too short. I had a set of Big Bores that got the ride height almost balanced. Sitting at 2.75" right now. still some minor tweaking to do. Second thing is that I really need to re-do the lower plates and skid, just doesn't look good to me.

Any ways, here's what it looks like now!

Gonna keep this one for a bit, so it might be a while.

Seems lately I have more fun building and setting up, than driving. But then again the snows melting fast. See what happens in a few weeks.

High clearance knuckles came in, so I'll start on the BTA today. Then mess with the shocks some more. Need to track down some different internal springs for the rear.

I like to make most of the parts that I can for my rigs, so I set out to make a rear 4-link truss. I had seen and read that a few guys were using/making them and it looked like a great idea. I will definitley say that for what R2J is selling them for, his are a great deal. Took me a few tries to get the plates and bends right, and mine is no where near as good as the ones he makes.

It will do for what I need, might try a few more. Here's a few pics.

And a shot of the original 4-link I had made and the new Truss.

Still a little fine tuning to do to get it right. I don't want it to seem like I am stealing ideas, just prefer to try my hand at making new things. For anyone out ther wanting one of these for there rigs, definitley look into the ones that R2J makes .

Got my first attempt at a BTA set up started. Still needs a bit of finish work, but so far all seems well fit wise. Also shaved the rear axle for the Truss and re-made the lower side plates and skid.

Still a ways to go yet.
