| Got my DNA dig today. Can you get a smaller servo mount?
Hey guys, I have an ax10 which i have just built up on a Vanquish incision chassis and attached a DNA dig. Can you get a servo mount for a small sized servo like you can for the vanquish hurftz dig. Just thought i'd ask before i buy a dig servo, as i will get a small servo if i can get a smaller mount too. thanks Alex |

DNA used to have a small "u" shaped mount that fit a Hitec 225-size servo, although they are pretty hard to come by now. Servo mounts are pretty easy to make, actually. This one is for an S3R dig, but the mount is very close to what DNA uses, ie; two holes on top of the dig case. This is a short strip of 1/8" steel, but aluminium would work too. The original S3R mount is also pictured below it for reference. This mount puts the servo just above the drive shaft. |

Or you can go here http://www.billet-works.com/dons_gar...le_price_drops and get one from the owner of the now defunct DNA.

I thought the current DNA low CG dig servo mount is universal and can accomodate a mini servo. that's why the servo slots are so big. It looks like a mini sized servo on Don's original SSS, and it looks like there is enough adjustment to accomodate a mini servo. Last edited by TSK; 02-12-2010 at 07:16 PM. |

Yeah, A mini servo will fit, but the mount is big so i want a smaller mount, otherwise it sort of defeats the purpose. I will get one from BWD or make one, thanks Alex | |

How is it big? It's flat, very light, and tucks the servo down low. Weight wise, I'm positive that the VP mount is heavier.

Size is just bigger than what it needs to be when using a small servo...... Got a mini mount now though, thanks Last edited by axeten; 02-13-2010 at 09:26 AM. |

A mini servo will not be enough to make you happy on the DNA. I ran 2 DNA's for a while before switching my rigs to VP. 5645 is lowest I would go. But for my comp rig, I ended up using a truggy servo - HS7955TG for me to be happy with performance.

the only issue with the OG mini servo mount is that the servo is up high above the dig unit. At least the new style mount puts the servo down low.

| I would agree the mini (Hitec 225) I used would occasionally not have the power to make the shift out of lock and a reverse would be necessary a standard stronger servo resolved the lock up problems for me. I had two DNA dig units one with steel internals both reacted the same way with the small servo. Save youself some time and money use a standard servo with enough power.
