Default Front C screws

The 2 screws that hold the c's on are starting to strip on both sides. They back out alot. Is there a fix for this short of a new axle housing?

Not really, other than trying some CA glue. not much material there to fix threads. A 6-32 screw might work though, you could try it and see.

You could assemble them w/ locktite red. They should hold up fine. But you better order housings, because when you take them off again they'll be no threads left.

Before mine started loosening I managed to break the ends of the housings completely. So I epoxied some aluminium tubing inside there, and drilled and tapped the holes for the 'C's. Now those screws go into metal and can be fully tightened without risk of stripping the plastic. It makes the whole axle stronger and more rigid too.

I know you need pics, but I don;t have any, sorry. Use your minds eye!

Cheers.

If they're alumimun c's, loctite on threads nearest to screw head. If not, new axle housings for $8 on ebay
