Default Hi steer knuckle set up

Hey guys got a question about some of you guys setup your steering links with the high steer knuckles? I've been having problems with clearance with the drag link(link that goes knuckle to knuckle) on the top of the knuckle arms.

I wanted to use the axial BTA kit on my vanquish, but the shock razors are in the way. I just kept the steering linkage up front nice and high. I used 3mm aluminum spacers to keep it from binding.

He has spacers under the servo mounts, batt looks like a 3s Common Sense pack, but might be something else.

By the way, your velcro is on the wrong side of the pack and your upper links are to long, might just be the photo angle.

What kind of rod ends are you using for that steering set up?

It is a commom sense 2000 lipo. I have the velcro on both sides because I have a dynamite ac/dc charger. The velcro keeps the battery secure under my 1:1 truck hood when I charge my battery out at the crawler spot.

Drag link: Link that goes from the servo horn to knuckle
Tie rod: Link the goes from knuckle to knuckle

If I had my old setup here I'd post a pic for you... I don't run high steer knuckles on my old crawler but I do have large spacers under the tie rod lifting it up to where a high steer knuckle would be! Remember you want the longest drag link you can! I have a battery/servo plate like posted above but I flipped my servo over so the output is as far to the driver side as possible then run a drag link to the passenger side! it's nearly as long as the tie rod! Keeps the best angles on the drag link giving it the most power possible! My servo horn just barely clears the tie rod but it works!

Maybe I should have been more clear. I was looking at the rod ends in the last photo. Those ones didn't look to be Axial ones.

The ones on his tierod are the stock ones from a kit/ARTR, on the drag link it's a stock one and one from the upper links.

Yeah, they do appear to be stock rod ends, but the balls look to make of steel and not the cheao plastic I have on mine.

Gotcha, thier Traxxas balls. I use them in the few Axial linkends i run also, the Axial balls are kinda pricey (kit uses steel balls, but my ARTR came with plastic ones also).

Thanks. That would explain the difference. I am going to have to proof read a little better before I post from now on.
