| LCC dig/tranny on an AX10???
i just picked up a lcc dig/tranny with servo and driveshafts for a great price. planning on putting onto my ax10 with swx chassis. i was wondering if anyone had tried this or done it before, and what tips there may be for me. i tried a search a few different ways and never found anything...i would imagine this has been done before and i'm not the first. |

There's two main issue's IMO, first gearing will be to high without a seperate gear reduction unit and second there will be F/R dig but both will be freewheel

The easiest way now wold be to get the lcc axles but then you would've been better off starting with the lcc from the begenning

i found that the axial transmission is 2.6:1 (not counting spur gear, just internal components). i'm not finding the gear ratio on the lcc tranny. i did not think about the dig/freewheel. i thought it locked out what the power was not given to. i see that it is left to free spool. i assume the dig on the lcc comes from the worm drives? |

where did you find the gear ratio for the lcc tranny? i have searched and searched and not finding it - on this forum nor google. back to my original question; is there anyone who has tried this? any reason why it would not work at all? i just don't think that i would be the first to give this a shot, but can't find otherwise.

There just isn't enough reduction in that trans without adding on yet another reduction unit. I am sure it is "possible" but it hasn't been done for a reason thus far. Plus without lock you are going to have to mod the trans internals or add another servo actuated locking unit. It's just not ideal swap.

you could use a higer turn motor like a 65 or 75t and make it a locking tranny some how, could be done, id like to see it be done!

| I knew you'd read it The amp draws would be stupid high and most likely just end up frying motors. You still wouldn't have any torque. Just throwing a high turn motor in there wouldn't do it. |

| Thank you for posting that. Well, I hear and understand what you all are saying. Since I already have the parts, I will put more thought into it and probably tinker with it. We'll see what happens. It may be a wash, but I may as well have some fun with it. I figure worst case, I should not have too much trouble selling it and getting my money back. When I get going with it I'll be posting and asking for any tips and feedback. |

Knowing the slipper gear and top gear are both 30 and on the same shaft, all you really need to do is 40/46. |

I had the same thought a few months ago and bought the LCC trans on a whim. As soon as I had it in my hands I knew it wouldn't work, and so turned around and resold it.
