Default Home brew AX-10, need dig mount help.

Spent some time at my work bench making my own chassis, skid, and links.

I want to run a DNA dig but am having some trouble figuring out how to mount the servo for it.

I've got two choices for dig servo size, mini of full size.

Take a look at this and post up any ideas you might have, due to me being stuck on how to mount a dig servo.

Default I kindof had the same problem with my Truck

I had the same problem mounting my dna dig in my FF4. I wound up using the same servo mount from DNA. I basically flipped the servo around and mounted it by only one side of the tabs. It is not ideal but it is working. I intend to take a flat aluminum plate and mount servo mounts to it. Enclosed is my thread and if you search my pics you can get an idea of how I made this work. My new concept to give it more strength actually involves mounting the servo the exact same way but with a plate underneath it to give it support.

RickM's FF-4 build too.

Nice work on your home brew by the way. You don't strike me as a shade tree kindof builder!!

When you get laid off from work, time at the bench is cheap.

I made this rig from spare parts and 1/8" aluminum plate I had here at the house.

Thanks for the ideas.

I had to drill new holes in the servo mount to move it over so it wouldn't hit the chassis... I know it's old school

I drilled em on the wrong side, now servo sits a little back now too. I like your chassis!

I like how you got yours to work, I may go that route, but I would like to keep the servo low.

This is what I did on a previous build.

I did have the original servo mount, but had to relocate it.
I just cut a piece from the stock battery mount plate, used the original mount to mark for drilling, twisted it a bit and slapped it in. It worked flawlessly.
I am pretty sure that with your machining skills you wont have a problem coming up with a solution.
Just make sure that the dig linkage engages as straight as possible wherever you put it.
I also think you might have trouble with that lower chassis brace hitting your dig linkage. Is it necessary for chassis strength? If not I would probably lose it altogether.

Oh...Killer looking rig by the way!
I really like those white links.

if you can afford to lose that brace in between your rear uppers i think you have room to make something similar to what i came up with for my VP

I sorta need to keep both cross braces to keep the chassis from flexing.

I am considering making something similar to RcBro's low CG dig mount to incorporate the mount for the servo into the cross brace.

As for the machining, I did all this with a cordless drill, coping saw, dremel, files............and elbow grease.
