Default Axial comp shocks?

Ok just got mine and I want to build them right.. I have teflon tape on the threads..

How do you guys put oil in yours? Like what is your procedure to get them as smooth as possible? I see axial says to fill up then take out bubbles wipe off excess and call it good. Do you fill them all the way? or just a little?

Also are you using the rubber bump stops on yours?

I really like these shocks, but they leak like saltine crackers when stock....replace the cartridge O-rings and here is some more reading for you:

I built mine exactly as shown on Axials blog. They leaked at first but after finding out a 10mm socket fits the cartrigde they haven't leaked since. I have changed fluid many times with out replacing any orings and still have no leaks. I tried the teflon tape on the threads but I couldn't get enough fluid to bleed out of the shock for them to work right. There is a good video on youtube showing how to rebuild Losi shocks and that is the way I do my Axial shocks now and it works the best for me.

I fill them up to the bottom couple of threads for the cartrigde, then move the piston all the way down then SLOWLY start screwing the cartrigde in, making sure the piston stays down. Wipe the oil off, and tighten down, check for smoothness and that it will compress all the way. On a couple of my shocks I had to loosen and let a little more oil out after I tighten them down.

I put the cartridge in first, with teflon around the threads. Then fill with oil and bleed, with the shaft about halfway in I put the bladder in squeezing out extra oil, then put the cap on. Makes for nice smooth shocks with zero air inside.
