Default The "noone would buy my SSS" build.

SSS + dremel + shocks.
Starting this tommorrow, but wanted to tease a little. I need an ESC, so it will be a roller for a bit.

HAHA sorry for the math lesson.

With the new SSS-R coming out soon, The OG SSS is goin under the knife.
Sprung front, torsion rear, VP dig, and built axial axles.
Not sure how it is going to work, Trial and error. If I screw it up at least I'll have a nice skid. LOL

I think a sprung rear would be more beneficial since it'll reduce it's tendencu to bounce/unload

Absolutely agree. That was a... issue seems too strong of a word, hmmm... characteristic! of the SSS chassis that made tuning a little more ... difficult seems too strong of a word, hmmm... interesting.

A while ago someone had a half torsion/half sprung chassis and at first it didn't make much sense but then I thought if you set the rear squat to push the rear end down slightly, I can see how breakovers... would be easier. Hmm new project to do http://www.jpcustomrcs.com/i//DSCF2903.jpg is the idea. I do have to say Don's new SSS chassis is amazing, have to hand it to him again

TheSCorpionKing, Took ur advise and decided to start with a sprung rear.
Now I was going to build up some rear shock towers, But I found that they fit perfect on the stock chassis brace location.

Sits a little high in the rear, but it isnt to bad. Should help with break overs.

Has some ridiculous flex too. Actually would be more, but the rear uppers hit the 4link plate. I think I'll leave it that way to limit. Because it has more than enough.
Rear flex

Front flex

Both are at 6" right there.
LMK what you think so far. I'm gunna mount the trans and stuff tonight.

Lookin cool cali

I too would have opted for a sprung rear setup vs front. You may have a tough time dialing in geometry at that height in the rear...I'm curious to see where you go with it after some tweaking and tuning.

I'm all about tryin different stuff.

Wheel base is at 12 1/4" sitting with weight in chassis. I have the 35t integy, trans and FXR wired up. Just need to fab a mount for the FXR and mount my servo. Should be testing MONDAY.

Regardless of wether or not this works, it looks awesome!

The only thing right off the top of my head that could be a hassle would be torque twist. Though, I'm sure with pre-load spacers, and oil changes, it could be dialed out

Nice way to think outside of the box

Thanks. Glad you like it. It does look mean. As far as torque twist. I Am looking for a cheap pair of losis. I have a few different shock oils I am planning on trying as well as some duritrax yellow stiff springs. The axials are just for mock up. Or untill I find a pair without having to buy a $40.00 set.
