Default **WINNER** Jones'n Frogger Chassis giveaway!

Who wants a free bodiless chassis? I thought I would start off by giving one away.

__________________________________________________ _________________________________

EDIT: after some discussion with "people in the know" I have decided to modify my existing design to conform to competition requirements.
Here is the updated design to include mounting holes for side plates. This Frogger V2.0 design will go to production in 3 days.

__________________________________________________ _________________________________

This chassis will bolt in to your AX10. It will work with your stock or aftermarket skidplate, as long as it is the standard dimensions.
The material is Delrin, and the cross bars are Delrin as well. Includes 7 cross bars and 14 mounting screws for the cross bars.

You must be a star holder. I will pick the winner in August.

If you need a star, you can get them here: http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/payments.php

Post only once, or you are out.

If you would like to purchase one now, you can follow my link in my signature. They are $35 shipped. Yeah, you heard that right.

If the winner decides that he/she does not like the updated design, I will honor my original offer and make the Frogger V1.0 chassis for them.

In order to be elligible, you must post a pic of your AX10 gettin' some.

Casey

That is a very good question. I have read the rules, and one is a bit confusing to me. It concerns the height distance from the top of the hood (bonnet) to the top of the roofline. I believe the rule said something about an inch. I will have to doublecheck.

I am designing 2 more chassis in a week or so, and they will be comp legal.

Rule 2.1.4 - Bodiless Vehicles: Must be self-supporting, structurally complete, rigid frame. The roof must be raised a minimum of 1" from the main chassis to resemble a cockpit. The frame sides must be an overall minimum of 1" tall (the cockpit & frame side are to be measured vertically from where the hood intersects the cab). Bodiless vehicles should resemble a 1:1 vehicle.

I do not quite understand what is meant by "the frame sides must be an overall minimum of 1" tall."

As for everything else in the rules, it seems I am in spec. As for resembling a vehicle, it was designed to look like a Lamborghini Gallardo.

EDIT: after some more reading and talking to some people that know more than me, I will have to make some small design changes in the next couple days.
This will not effect the time for this giveaway.

Hey Casey, I think you might have a problem with the part above in yellow. The issue that will be raised is that there really is no hood. The frame sides are measured from the same location, only in the opposite direction....down instead of up. you seem to be ok there. Here's my picture!

Thanks Juan. I am going to work with my graphics guy tomorrow and see if we can come up with a solution that does not change the chassis too much. I was really shooting for a Lamborghini Gallardo look. That is really the hood that I wanted to achieve.

Oh well. Back to the drawing board.

you could always do what you are going for and have a disclaimer that the chassis is not comp legal and then come up with an altered version that is?

in for my chance!

I deleted my first post so I only have one and do not get DQ'ed ;)

Well, my guy was going to rip the 50 units starting tomorrow. I will just delay it till monday to make sure this chassis can be comp legal first. After your help, it seems I am very close to comp legal. I will adjust it tomorrow at work, and post the new design for the giveaway.

Thanks again man. I might just have to give you Underground guys a free one anyway.

Dont quote me on that!
