Default Thomas' Underground Crawlers Fastback

here is my original FF-4 build thread, Thomas's FF-4 build my fastback shares all the same parts as the FF-4 did

here it is straight outta the box.Juan did an awesome job boxing it up!

all bolted up

back axle and tranny in

here you can see i had hardly any room between the servo horn for the dig and the side plate, i had to do the nut on the outside of the chassis.

other view of the back

side view

front axle on

triangulation of front

pinion angle kinda sucks, its to help withe the caster angle

top body pannel

hood pannel on

side view again

side showing dig

all the wires crammed in there under the hood

under view

full side view

flexin it up

you like the wheels!? they are flat white on the rings and black rims

top with stickers!

balancing on the side.

flexing on a cool little sticky note thing

rims rear

rims in front.

hope you like the white and black theme thing.

my side body pannels are drying, i will post pics of it when they are on.

i really like this chassis already, you nailed it Juan!!!

i have a comp on wednesday and i basicly have a whole new setup from the last comp i had, i had the FF-4 with no dig and now i have dig and a bodyless chassis, the true test of it will be on wednesday, i cant wait!

sorry bout the crappy pics, they were all with my blackberry because my camera was dead and i didnt want to wait to build it!

tell me what you think! any feed back is accepted!

Nice looking rig, I really like the black and white. The fastback chassis looks impressive, I know I was impressed w/ the FF4, and like you said, they are packed very nicely.

Rig looks great thomas. I think some clockable C's should be your next purchase. That front pinion angle makes me cringe just looking at it.

He can always dye the delrin yellow

Another suggestion after a second look at the photos is your upper rear links. The change I would make would be to move them to the outside of the mount you have. Having them with no space between them like that loses most of the benefit for 4 linking. Make a spacer or use two revo balls to brace the mount where the links are now, use a longer screw and put them on the outside of that bracket.

thanks bryan!

i took your advice richard and spaced my rear 4 link, i had no screws long enough so i had to use a screw for each link, i see it becoming a weak link in the future though...

sorry, it was a blackberry pic again

You will want to put a spacer in the middle before you do any serious crawling, or you will bend it. Add long screw and a spacer or two revo balls to your needed parts list!

i will probably cut a piece of brake line and put it in the middle for now but i will try to get a screw before wednesday, they were almost long enough but the nut only would have like one thread holding it and im not ok with that!

Good looking car. you will definately like the bodyless car even if it's not a BJV3.

I will bring my hardware cases with all of my 3mm stainless screws so maybe I will have something long enough.

Do you still want one of the aluminum cases or did you bloww all of your money on the new car?

Well I think it was money well spent.

We will always have the cases in stock so when you're ready just let me know. Also since I'm giving you the sales pitch, we just got 1300mha 3S lipos in stock and we have Panthers and Rovers in stock.

Looking forward to showing you why you should have bought the BJV3 on Wed.
