Default flat iron tires what rims to buy?

sorry for a maybe trivial question. i searched the forum but maybe did it wrong ...

some friend game me 2 pairs of flat iron tires. now i need some rims to fit on my ax-10.

which ones would i need to buy? what do i have to take care about except from fitting the hex on the axle?

thank you for your support.
regards izeman

i'm not sure that i get you 100% right.
do you mean:
a) i should stay with the standard tires (rims and rubber)
b) that i can use axial rims with flat iron tires
?
thx izeman

if the FI's came off of an SCX10 they would be 1.9's and his AX10 will more then likely be 2.2.

if the FI's are 2.2 they will work on your AX10 wheels, if they are 1.9, you will need 1.9 wheels, I recomend looking at the clasifieds for a used set of SCX wheels if this is the case.

I don't recommend running the flat irons for crawling. They are a great scaler tire and have really good grip, at least until they get dusty, then they are like racing slicks.

I agree with you there! But they do really well on wet rock!

I recommend Hammers if you want to stay in the same height range. If you want to go the taller tire route thats a whole different story. I am currently trying out the taller Chisels after running Hammers for 2 years and so far I dont like the extra GC. But I know I just need to get used to the taller tire.
