Default biggest tires on an AX10

Was wondering if anybody uses Clod or Summit size tires on their AX10. I was thinking 6" - 7" in height. I'd like a little more height and tire size for snow. Also what wheel you can use that'll bolt up. I don't really wanna buy another truck, as i've dumped a lot of $$ and upgrades in my AX10 Scorpion. Thanks!

My Proline Chisels are quite tall...and on some narrow wheels, my HB Rovers are the same height. As for really tall tires, I would argue against it, as it will put alot of strain on your drive train. Stick to around 5.5" with your tires. If you need a bit more ground clearance, try to get it another way.

X2 on the big tires. The other down side to really big tires is it will limit your steering. The tries will hit your front shocks or lower links faster than with normal 2.2 tires. Maybe somthing a little wider would allow you to stay on top of snow better like sedonas. I live in Texas, so can really tell you anything about that white stuff.

You could just read posts from two years ago.

How about some sort of pizza cutter tire? Tall but skinny. There are a lot of Jeepers that are going in that direction and they get the benefits of a tall tire obviously but the reduced weight and tire drag really help with power, fuel economy, and broken axles.

you would want a wide tire to stay on top of the snow.... id try stock wheely kings . you should be able to find them here on the cheap and they are not to heavy to hurt your drive train

Opps...I totally missed that the OP wanted new tires for the snow. Yeah, pizza cutters probably not the best for that.

I have made a monster out of some old stock axles I had. They hold quite great with only a set of alum knuckles.

Here is how I mounted the wheels.

It is a simple 2.2 wheels cut and glued inside the clod wheel.
The wideners are not really that necessary but I wanted some extra width.
