Default Bone Stock AX10 - What's to do first?

Hello All!!! I have been checking out my Local Hobby Store's Crawler area. I almost bought a Losi Night Crawler, but met some folks that spoke very hightly about the AX10. I am getting my AX10 this week. The question is, what are the mods I should make and in what order? Starting with the basic ready to crawl....

If money is no object, what are the mods to make this into a real bad a$$ crawler...

Help me out folks........

First off is new tires. Most use the hb rovers.
Second I would say better shocks.
Third is a better stearing servo.
It all depends on how far you want to take it.
You can do some searching on here though and find answers to pretty much all the questions you are gonna have.

Start here, read through this link.

Most of the mods can be done for next to nothing. After that the first mod I would do is a Castle Creations BEC, this will make the stock electronics work alot better. Buy one when you pick up your truck there about $25 bucks. Have the guys at the LHS show you how to hook it up.

Then tires, check with some guys in your area see what they like. Most people like HB Rovers, I have three different sets of tires some work good where some won't work at all.

Cut the body down, the tires rub on it like crazy and it tends to get hung up an everything.

The sky is the limit, how much do you want to spend, I took my time and read through a lot of posts to see what works. Then I did one mod at a time so I could see if there was a gain in performace.

Your going to want to replace the knuckles and C's with aluminum upgrades. Also think about replacing the chassis early on, the GC-3A is a ton of awsome in a great package.

Also read the stickies at the top of the page. There is some great info and suggestions in them.

Personally what I am doing, being new to all this and just getting my first crawler yesterday, I am going to run my truck stock and mod slowly and piece by piece. That way I can appreciate what each mod does and see how improves (or not) how my rig runs. I figure if I wanted to have a fully modded setup from day one and in the end not really know squat about the thing...I would have bought someone else's project for a lot less money than it would have cost me to build the same thing. This way I get to learn as I build.
