| http://www.rc-truckncar-tuning.com/ackerman.html Answer is yes, however if they are installed with the tie rod in the front of the axle, it is reverse ackerman. Read on. Chris Last edited by snoking; 01-11-2011 at 08:31 AM. |

They are high clearance, but they are not zero ackerman. Correct ackerman and zero ackerman are not the same.

| Zero ackerman steering for you AX-10 I have three different knuckles to look at. 1. Stock Axial plastic - Has Ackerman angle with problems noted below. 2. SP Racing Aluminum - Has Ackerman angle with problems noted below. 3. Axial BTA Aluminum - Has Ackerman angle that functions correctly. On the first two lines drawn between the points meets out in front of the crawler, which is the reverse of the effect that Ackerman steering is suppost to accomplish. On the Axial BTA kit lines drawn though the points meet near the center of the rear axle, which is the correct Ackerman setup. Thus #3 is a correct application of Ackerman steering. The issue here is that the stock tie rod is in the front of the axle, which is reversing the ackerman effect. When you do BTA mod then ackerman is functioning as it should, causing the inside tire to turn sharper than the outside tire. I will note that the Axial BTA kit gave my crawler a bit of tie out! Not sure if that is an issue of not. I have pictures in my "My four link conversion" thread. Chris Last edited by snoking; 01-11-2011 at 06:09 PM. |
