Default Which Motor

I am sure this has been asked a thousand times, but what motor should I get for my ax-10. I am currently running a 45 turn integy pro motor, and it seems like it has no low end and binds up very easy. I am running a HH BR-XL with cheapbatterypacks 3s 1300mah lipos. I should have plenty of power from the set up that I have, but I don't. Also the shaft moves in and out of the motor about a 1/16". Bottom line is that it is getting warn out and I am ready for something a little nicer. So my question is, what motor should I get. I have been looking at a 40 or 45 turn HH pro handwound, but wanted to see else is out there and if there were any other recomendations. Thanks in advance, Josh.

Ya, at the time when I bought my integy motor, I didn't know to much about them. Now I know that when I see integy to just stay away. But for being around 2-3 years old, it sure has lasted a while.

Can't go wrong with HH or Brood. I've been running a HH 35T w/ a 14T pinion - plenty of wheelspeed without sacrificing any low-end punch.

I was just looking at the crawlmaster handwound 540's, has anyone had any experience with these in an ax-10 running 3s lipos? If so, what is everyones experience.

Integy is just a really cheap brand. Most of their links, tranny cases, and such use really cheap metals that do not take much abuse. They are overall low quality company that sells upgrades for cheap. Just my .02

I really liking my Novak Goat Bushless setup, recently reduced from $250 to $150 for the motor and ESC combo.

I'm running a HH 35t Torquemaster. Great Low end crawling and I can burn the tires when I want to. Really predictable as well.

I'm running 45T Integy (only good thing they sell is thier brushed motors) for several years and is good with stock gearing on 2s, but I'm going to move up to 16T or 17T pinion for more wheelspeed and hopefully maintain crawlability. Seems the higher turns should provide better torque to push the higher gears without gettting hot...this motor barely gets warm at stock gearing even on the 100F + days of summer here. I have a 55T or 65T all broken in and waiting when my 45T dies....then I'll have to gear up for sure. 3s is what I would buy next time instead of the 2s 1300mah that I run currently.

I used to run what you have right now. I stepped up to a 7t puller. What an amazing difference. I run a 12/90 = good wheel speed and gobs of torque.

I just bought a ugc fastback, so the 7t puller is out of the question. I am now looking at the hh crawlmaster 16t 540. looks to be a good motor. I did not mention this before, but I also want something that is low maintnace. I know that a few guys will say to go brushless, but for some reason it doesn't interest me. It seems like all I read now a days is brushless problems. I know that brushless systems have come along ways but they dont seem to fit a crawler too well imho, another thing is that I already have a badass br-xl.
