| Ax 10 suspension question
Hello all,Im new to crawling,Im looking at AX90011 AX10 SCORPION "READY TO CRAWL" RTC, 2.4GHZ, DRAG BRAKE.Seems to have all the good parts metal servo, good contoller, spped control etc, but does the slipper clutch make it bouncy? Many of the videos look like is bounces vs grips the rock with its suspension? In person how does it do? It seems to be the number 1 recomendation at this price point. I am looking to try crawling with the kids and to have fun.Trying to stay around under $250. |

The slipper won't affect your grip. If you're new to the game then it will help protect your drivetrain - you're better off with it than without it. Check out the posts on here as there's lots on buying your first crawler - the AX10 is a good place to start - works well out of the box - especially for what you want. Support for it is excellent. The Losi Night Crawler is arguably more modern - it's quite different and needs more maintenance but equally good at what you want one for. If you buy an AX10 then buy the shrouds for the drive shafts at the same time and put them on BEFORE using it - this also ensures that you loctite the set screws back in (as opposed to relying on the factory. This way you'll not be frustrated if the shafts fail first time out! Everything else tends to work OK. Read the threads on upgrades once you're ready to take it further.

I just got one also for a new build. You are going to want to get a Castle USB Link to hook up to the AE-2 ESC. The Drag Brake setting is supposed to come set at 100% but mine was at 50%, It was like having hardly any Drag Brake. The Castle Creations Link lets you hook the ESC up to a computer and adjust the Settings.
