| VP 8 Degree Knuckles/VP 8 degree Chubs
Hey guy im trying to make a hard decision Im currently running standard aluminum knuckles and c hubs right now, and I want to get alot more out of my steering, is it worth the price of almost a hundred bucks to drop on the new the vanquish product im leaning in the direction of buying them today. Or would u guys go with the high-steering-knuckles-zero-ackermann? |

Well, either route will get you more steering. the benefit of the VP 8* set-up is less tire scrub, which improves overall steering performance by reducing the amount at which the tires fight each other. You could go with the non-8* knuckles and just add more caster (by clocking the axle with beef toobs) and that will help reduce scrub steer. Bumping caster up to about 20-25* seems to be about the most you can go without actually hurting steering performance (too much and the tire basically just rolls over onto it's sidewall and thereby reduces the tires traction). The 8* knuckle setup allows for normal caster (clocking) angles while reducing scrub angles and maximizing tire contact patch. |
