Default What are these holes for on this 4-link plate?

The pair of holes at the far left, and far right... what are they for?

Also, can anyone identify this plate? I got it on a used crawler I bought.

Thanks!

Servo mount holes.

Edit--hummm.....nevermind....the holes closest to the countersunk holes are for that.

Maybe they are longer upper link mount holes.

Yup, soopa doopa bigazz 1/4 scale servo mount holes.

If you bent those outer tabs up at a 90 degree angle...Viola! Instant cheepo D-link mount.

Cool. I wonder if I can get a cheap 1/4 scale servo (made in china no-name) for less $ than a 1/10 servo, but with way more torque.

I never even heard of a d-link mount until now! I wonder how it'll handle if I mount the links there without bending the tabs up.

Thanks guys.

Being if you use for the front. It will limit front articulation to much. That's my $0.02 .

I think you will really like the TCS front link alot better than that one you have at present. Maybe keep the one you have around for awhile. You may want to try it on the rear. I prefer a little wider rear upper mount position. Not that the TCS rear was not a awesome change from the three link set up.

Plus I like the looks of the TCS ones better. They're going on my SCX10.

I looked into 1/4 scale servos for kicks... prices are very reasonable. $30 for a Hitec HS-805BB.
Torque @ 4.8: 274.96 oz.in / 19.8 kg.cm
Torque @ 6v: 343.01 oz.in / 24.7 kg.cm
That's less than the price of a Traxxas 2075, at double the torque! I was expecting prices in the hundreds.

But man... they are huge! Wonder if I can fit one on my MRC ;)

I have not put a 1/4 scale servo on before. I have been considering it on my next build ;)
Besure to start a build thread, I would love to see it done before I try it .

Those holes are for mounting TLT stays on top of the plate Gatekeeper style.

I did more reading and found the following... I knew there had to be a catch.

This servo has a higher current drain (800mah) than a standard size servo. It is highly recommended that you use a separate, high capacity receiver battery (at least 1200mah) to operate this servo. If used in conjuction with an electric powered vehicle, do not utilize the BEC.The excessive power drain may damage the receiver or the ESC.

I guess my $5 3A BEC won't cut it.

LOL! I would say your right on the $5.00 BEC. I guess that is off of the list of maybe's. I will stick with spending a little more on the 1/10 scale servo's.
