€more contact patch pressure, same weight on a smaller patch of rubber. and it supposedly improves traction.

A skinny wheel makes the tire taller. And so on.

A narrower tire puts less stress on the steering and drivetrain.

Sometimes the higher contact pressure is desirable, and sometimes the more tread you've got in contact with the rock the higher the odds of finding traction.

In the end it really boils down to foams, rim size... setup and so on BUT in the end your the one who makes the decision.

I know from running my cars that on some tires sometimes wider tires is an advantage vs skinny tires. I prefer stock size with a small{er} rim pulling the tire in but that's because im lazy and I run stock foams on my Rovers for now...
