Default TCS Edge Chassis Issue

Just got done getting everything switched over the the edge chassis.

Problem is my one traxxas drive shaft is now too short. The axial drive shaft is fine on the other end. I have the shocks, 4 link bars, and lower links mounted on the farthest out hole on the chassis. This is the same configuration i had on the stock ax10 chassis.

Is the problem the mounting on the edge chassis or hos i have something setup?

EDIT: I also just mirrored the trans when it was out of the chassis for the swap, would that changed my drive shaft length?

Well I would say if your wheel base is the same, then the mirror tranny might be what caused it

Its just interesting NO one else has the same issue. Searched and couldnt find anything where anyone else has this issue. I measured the chassis mounting locations and they are the same. I guess ill pull the tranny out and un mirror it and see if it fixes it.

Sounds like a good plan. The only thing I can think of is if the tranny is farther forward or backwards then stock on the skid, or the skid farther forward or backwards when mounting it to the edge chassis. That would result in one shaft shorter than the other. Why cant you just get a new traxxas or stock plastic shaft and call it good?

Well i have more traxxas shafts, bought them to replace the rear stock shaft i twisted. Never caused an issue till the problem above occurred now. If i have to go back to stock shafts thats fine i just want to make sure there isnt a easy fixable issue that will solve my problems without spending any $$.

I'm doing the same swap and having issues as well. What length are your bottom links? I'm swapping from a SWX chassis and my bottom links are way short.

move your upper links in..
it will rotate your pinion angle down, thus pulling your drive shaft out.

pics for reference..

Running full droop with medium strength springs from tcs and 60wt shock oil. I moved my links from the bottom of my 4 link plate to the top of the 4 link plate and solved the issue. Basically it was just allowing too much axle wrap and when the axle would wrap the drive shafts would disconnect.

Before i moved the links from the bottom to the top i undid the mirror tranny and it didnt solve anything.

Fixed the problem BUT now that i have it all wired up and running with the torque twisting and trying to crawl up something it pops the driveshafts. The traxxas shafts just arent long enough. Im starting to think its something to do with my custom built 4 link bars. But im just unsure what cause the issue since i changed so much at once.

Not sure what to take a picture of to help. The driveshafts are fine until you flex the truck out completely to the one side in which the driveshafts come apart. I swapped the rear of the 4 link to the top of the 4 link plates and it helped but it still just barely does it. I would like to get some longer shafts, less work if i twist one off.

you need a trianglulated skid ..
like this..
STRC MACHINED DELRIN CENTER SKID PLATE FOR AXIAL AX10 (BLACK DELRIN)

by running the lower links on the inside of the chassis instead of the outside,it will take some of the twist out and make it more stable.
as your double triangulating your links upper and lower.
however you do need to mod your driveshafts and make them longer
anyway.

Are the MIP driveshafts longer than traxxas shafts? Have read those are the way to go for durability but not sure on the length.

Assuming thats pretty well full extended. I measured a traxxas shaft. Just over 4" fully extended.

Planning on getting the lower skid plate to move the links inward.

I think if i do that and MIP shafts it SHOULD solve my problem. Im happy with how the suspension handles and works except for the shafts being too short.
