Dont think so....I think the new ones are rated for 2s and the older AE1 ESCs are not lipo ready...Dont take my word for it though I havent played with the stock ESCs in a long while

AE-2 ESC with Drag Brake
The Axial AE-2 ESC was developed in partnership with Castle Creations and features LiPo cutoff, drag brake for tough crawling situations, a Tamiya style plug connector and is programmable via Castle Link™ (Castle Link™ not included).

Got this from the wraith section, pretty sure its in the new AX-10s, on the axial website and the only other specs I could find was for 2s lipo.

Not as it comes out of the box, no.

Need to install Castle Creations BEC,(plugged into receiver, not direct to servo), remove red wire from ESC receiver plug, then it works.

I currently have mine set up that way and am running 9 NiMh cells, works fine. (AS-2 servo, AE-1 ESC, Futaba FHSS receiver, CC BEC set to 7.0 volts, stock Axial 55 turn motor, stock 14/87 gearing, stock drivetrain)

AE-2 ESC has a LiPo low voltage cutoff, AE-1 does not. I'll be running a light/alarm in my balance plug if/when I ever go LiPo.

I thought on the new ax10 you could just switch right to lipo's 2s without a Bec because it does state that the cutoff is auto on on the esc the way the manual reads i could be wrong tho but i would for sure like to know because i was looking at lipo saddle packs for my ax10.

you can run a 2s without a bec on the Ae-2. And with a BEC (you should have one no matter what) you can run 3s. It should be set to autolipo cutoff. Im not sure how it comes from the factory, but you can change it with the castlelink/fieldlink.

Its basicly a sidewinder without the brushless. I am running a 4s with no problems on my sidewinder.

Remember to order a CastleLink if you don't already have one. Out of the package the CC BEC is only set to 5.1 volts, which may make your servo seem pretty weak and slow. I highly reccomend bumping it up to 6.0 volts.

Or check with local hobby shops to see if they have one...unless you plan on running more castle stuff in the future its not really worth the $ to use once and let it sit on a shelf
