| Spare parts VW AX-10 Hey guys.I was cleaning up some of my parts bins.So I took a bunch of spare parts from several kits I've had.Set them in front of me and started a build. I was going to take more pics of the start and work but I got into it and it slipped my mind....lol So I started with one axle from an SCX-10 and one from a Dingo. I took some factory lower links that I had from an old AX-10 kit. Striped them to bare metal and bent them. I had a blue STNC tranny skid I ordered for something. And some orange upper links and steering linkage from a ARTR. The chassis came from one of the kits not sure from which one. A set of 2.2 wheels from my Losi comp crawler and tires from My Tamiya CR-01. Some Losi threaded shocks with Axial springs on them.A silver can motor from a ClodBuster. And a ESC from an original Traxxas rustler. OH and some Lowes hardware....lol I made the rear 4 link plate out of a piece of scrap. The only thing that was somewhat new was the body BUT it was from a build I started for a buddy that lost interest in it. So I striped the little bit of paint that it had on it and threw on some silver and orange. I tried to keep as much of the fenders as I could. I left all the rear fenders and cut just enough of the front where they wouldn't rub.I'm trying not to be like every other VW with the fenders all cut off.I also painted the Motor on the back of the body to look more life like.So here's some pics of what I got done so far. I still need to dig into more parts bins and come up with some drive shafts. |

that single 2 barrel won't work very good on there without some good manifold preheat and the right jetting. if you get low end bogging, you need to switch to dual carbs!! god i love vw's!!! |
