Trying to use mips but my build requires either longer drive shaft or longer output shaft onthe tranny. Didnt even know they made such a thing. I would search but ipod wont let me for some reason

Is you transmission mounting location already predetermined? If so, which drive shaft needs to be longer? Some options below. For the front you could use the Crawler Innovations long 6mm output and this: TowerHobbies.com | 08137 MIP Drive Hub 6mm E-Revo/Maxx For both you could use two of the above outputs, but one would have to be modded. The long output in a longer Wraith transmission would work also. Supershafty also makes longer outputs if you can't find the CI one. These you will have to bore the MIP ends to 8mm. SuperShafty.com |

| Does it have to be 5mm? Maybe he's saying that because it's the longest driveshaft he could find? I'm telling him to search and with that he could find the C.I. Tranny outputs that go farther out and then he could possibly use max shafts or if he has the tools, he can turn it down to 5mm to use whatever drive shafts he wants, read the first post and imagine where a comma or period would be. He's asking for longer outputs, not 5mm long but just longer, he was asking for the ends to be 5mm to fit the drive shafts he has

I need to hook driveshafts up to the factory size 5 mm output. If i can get 6 mm i could just drill out the end of my drive shaft that slides over. I dont want to do the 8 mm i dont have room for those shafts that are reqired to fit the outputs yes it would be great to extend front and rear. Could i use a wraith rear output in a normal axial tranny i know its longer for the dig unit kits to replace it?

Well check out supershafty, they make the same kind and it's 6mm but maybe they could turn it down, just a guess

How much more do you need? Maybe something like this will work. MIP Axial Wraith 5mm Long Drive Hub [MIP11117] | RC Cars & Trucks - A Main Hobbies |

I don't think there is an easy fix for you, unless that long wraith MIP hub is long enough. Supershafty and Crawler innovations both have 8mm outputs only. I suppose if you had the room, you could use these along with some revo driveshafts. I'm not sure if anyone has ever done it but I dont see why the "maxx shafts made easy" wouldnt work with revo shafts. Drill one revo yoke to fit the 8mm outputs and drill the other to insert a stock metal 5mm axial yoke. Super strong, and super big. You may also be able to find someone locally that could machine down the end of the 8mm outputs to 5mm. I dont see the extended 6mm outputs on CI's website anymore, but maybe I missed it. Even if you got them, I'm pretty sure only one is extended, so you might need two pair of them, along with the matching 6mm MIP hub. I'd look into extending the MIP's, if you already have them. If not, there may be a punisher shaft that suits your WB. |

i don't think anyone makes a really long 5mm output because they'd be rather flimsy. the CI one's are 6mm and the SuperShafty ones are 8mm. I'd personally just run a maxx shaft conversion. It's cheaper, has driveshafts so long you'd probably need to cut them down, and if you use the correct yoke, it'll fit onto a 5mm output. Plus, if you have pin lock style on the output and pinion gear, it comes with the pin lock screw for them. |
