| Knuckle weight
I've been tinkering with a sportsman rig and reading a lot in this forum. It seems like everyone runs the Dlux system, VP system or Egressors system. Does anyone else have or use these Sven knuckle weights? I'm wondering if there is a reason I can't find anything on them searching. Kinda look like they'll get hung up a lot, especially where the slugs don't fit inside the wheel. Thoughts? Long term I plan to acquire some VP XR-10 knuckles, chubs, weights and universals to use with some longer beef tubes I have, but the funds won't support that right now. |

I use a similar system on my 2.2 berg and think they work great! As you can see, they do have a bit of rock rash on them......but not much for how much drive time that truck sees. I really think that weights down low and in that position are key to running the VP8* stuff. |

I guess I'll run them a little. I think I need to make shorter weights so they're flush on the inside like yours are. Thanks for the input. |

I just cut a slug in half and it's .4 oz. the rear hole could probably take a whole slug without causing any major interference, so that'll be 3 oz per wheel. I think I can rig some washers off the sven holder and get a little more. What do you think optimum weight would be? |

Mine weighed in at 4.6oz fully slugged. Not sure if that's optimum or not for your setup...

4.6 oz is on your berg, right? It looks like your sportsman has unweighted wheels and the 3.5 oz VP weights, minus what you shaved. I should be in the ball park with all six half slugs in, and I guess I can put my DH's on and add slugs to those if needed.

When using knuckle weight, i think the idea is to go as minimal as popssible, while achieving something close to a 60/40 front/rear weight bias. At least that's what i aim for when running weights of any kind. Obviously, depending on your trucks bias without add-on weights, and the trucks RTR weight without add-ons, will determine how much weight you really need to be effective. |

Well, I made some weights real quick. These washers bolt to the sven knuckle weight holders and weigh 3 oz. I cut some VP slugs in half. With all 6 installed its 3 oz. I also have these 1/4" brass washers between the wheel and hub. They weigh 2 oz. So that's 8 oz total I guess. Seems like they're tucked in out of they pretty good. I'll get a weight on the truck and try to figure out the front/rear bias, then tweak the weight from there. Thanks for the input. |

Interesting, this is the first I have seen them used on a rig that is not a Super.

Do these fit on knuckles other than VP AX-10? Bergs maybe?

Well, now that explains why I couldn't find any other ax-10 axled rigs using them. |

| Re: Knuckle weight Yeah, berg. And yeah, my sporty uses the main ring shaved, but with one extra ring. The wheels are slightly different front to rear. The rears have been heavily channeled and use lighter hardware. Not much, but a bit of a difference.
