How does this unit hold up for you comp guys? I'm planning on putting this in a SCX based buggy. Does it take a lot of power to push and pull that arm because if it doesn't i may consider a micro servo.

The VP dig holds up great, and if you do manage to break or wear out a part, they sell each piece separately. As far as servo, you can run a mini (225mg) but get something that is as fast as possible, the servo throw is quite a bit. |

I have had my VP dig for about 3 1/2 years or so. I haven't managed to break anything yet. It doesnt take much power at all to move the arm, but I run the 645 on all of my digs. It is just insurance to me that the servo wont burn up. Sometimes i bump my dials and the servo hums for a bit before I hear it and can fix it. A smaller low power servo will burn up quickly in cases like that, or if it can't shift all the way in for a couple seconds. I had to replace 2 85mg servos and a 225mg before I switched to the 645mg. I've had the same 645 hooked to me dig for almost 3 years and never a problem.

I am still running the first prototype on my g6 rig. Never have replaced a single part. And still running the cheap servo I got in my old dx3 controller from over 8 years ago. And I am not easy on it one bit. |

Thats a great piece, ran one for 18 months and only wore out one bushing. But i would use a full size servo |

i'm planning om getting a vp dig. My chassis only has room for a mini servo. I have read on this thread that a fast servo will help with shifting. Is a 225 considered a fast servo? If not, what mini servo should i get?

After re-reading about the chassis i have: A full size servo will fit with vp dig. Is there such a thing as too much power for this dig? I have a servo that puts out 140 oz. of torque.

I liked to use the Futaba S3102 micro servo, 67 oz./in., same as a Hitek 225. | |
