Default Red Rockcrawlers PRODIGY SPORTSMAN

So I have been collecting parts for this for awhile. Been looking for the right time to build it up. I took some vacation time from work today. Wife is in Arizona with her dad and daughter is at school. So with the house to myself I started mocking it up.

My back drop for the pictures will become the chassis

Parts List:

Turbotech - PRODIGY SPORTSMAN CHASSIS w/ Titanium lowers and Aluminum Uppers.
Holmes Hobbies 30T Motor
Holmes Hobbies BR mini
Axial ax-10 axles
300m cvd's
Regular Beef Tubes
Vanquish 8 Deg C's and knuckles and weights
Vanquish rear lock outs
Axial over and under drive gears
Axial trans with BWD motor plate
Jr 8711
Futaba 3ch receivers
Scx-10 shocks
Gripfab lockers

Nice start, I have been thinking about going with the Vanquish 8 Deg C's and knuckles myself, I'm interested to hear what you think about them.

That'll work! Sorry for dropping the balls on ya Cory. Just dont have the time anymore man....

Are you gonna go with the wider front axle (xr style)?

I don't even know what type of weight that I will be shooting for. There will some Jenny Craig diet on this.

I'm not going to use all of that knuckle weight but have options.

Took some weight measurements of the stock side plates, and servo mount.

I had time to cut out new side plates and servo mount out of 2mm carbon fiber.

So I lost 8 oz. of weight so far.

I ripped apart the front axle to replace the case and install the over drive gears.

Found out that the front axle had regular beef tubes and a spool.

I fried 4 drill bits trying to open up the hole to make the 300m CVD's fit. Come to find out a grinding stone in the dremel did it quicker and didn't heat up the gear.

Front axle is done with new carbon fiber servo mount install. Next is the rear axle.

Thanks guy I cut the carbon fiber with this old sears & roebuck saw. It was my Grandpa's

It took a couple of blades to cut it all out.

The mailman has brought me a few goodies. I got in 4 aluminum scx-10 shocks and these sweet Limited Edition Light Weight Stainless Steel Lockers from Grib-Fab.

Also have some Titanium shafts coming in for the ax-10 transmission.

I used ryobi regular tooth 20 tpi. The Carbon Fiber will tear the teeth right off the blades.

I used a 2x4 to raise my work area so I could get to good teeth on the blade.

The blades were too small for the scroll saw I have but I made them work.

Builds comin along nicely man. The LW lockers are just plain DISCO & the Don Hughes trans shafts are surgical lookin.

The Nats 2.2s class is gonna be SICK this year. So many crazy builds.

Keep up the good work doot. Yer love will be in the mail manana seenwhore.
