That's a good idea. When I built the plate, I had already made up my mind on battery placement. I imagine that's why it never crossed my mind. I do like the idea of hidden wiring though. I can't really see running the wiring through the plate on the batt side because the lack of clearance under there. The pass through for the tie-rod really eats up the available room under there. However if I was to drop the wiring under the plate from the front side, I could run it under the tie-rod, then there would be room. It seems that just getting the wires under the plate would be tricky, once they're down there, there is plenty of room without being too close to the rocks. These might show what I'm talking about. It looks like there's room, maybe on the next one.

It's a work in progress. The chain was a dice roll too, I didn't know how much I liked it til I got it installed with that polished sprocket.

I appreciate there's not a lot of room, the bta link does as you say take most of the room. With the rx on the other side that scuppers that side a little too. It did cross my mind a bit more wiring could be concealed in the RR bracket thingy ma jig but soldering is fun Glad to have put the idea out there for the next one - if I don't blatantly steal the idea first |

Looking at those last pics, I don't think I even realized there was a tie rod tucked inbetween all that stuff. |

Well, got some tires on the wheels, a body mounted, and made sure it goes forward and steers. Running spec's are: 3lbs 15.1oz. or 1789g. TP 850 3s SCX shocks; Front 50wt med spring, Rear 70wt firm spring Front width 11-1/8" Rear width 10-1/2" The balance point is roughly at the lower link mount and the chassis has a fair amount of forward bias to it. Heres some pics. I'm really diggin' the stance and that you can just look right through the wheels. |

| Re: 8-454's Numero dos! My take on the Sucker Punch Nah just the LHS think they can squeeze that much from the local hobbyist.... That's why we shop online from US vendors and some good local online shop (like OneTenCrawlers)..... Anyway, just saw your electrics placement.....: shock: Very very............Very nice. BTW, I think you should make the plate and I am sure it will be a seller. Well Done. |

Ground clearance: @ full extension -front screw 3-1/8" -rear screw 3-1/2" @ ride height -front screw 2-1/2" -rear screw 2-13/16" For running the med and firm springs it seemed to settle quite a bit. These springs have seen about two years of abuse though. I think they lose their initial spring rate from new after a while. |
