Looks like a build that came from about 2008. Might be fun but everything is outdated.

if you are just looking to have fun, its great to have. If you plan on competing you should probably look elsewhere. Depending on the price, i would get it. IMO look at the current axial RTR offerings and compare their cost to that. If you get a brand new RTR that is around the same price as that you know its never been beat on and it has current/relevant parts in it. |

I have one and I love mine. It's super capable on a fun basis only. It's not competitive do to the fact it's slightly longer then the rules allow plus it has 4 wheel steering and a dig system (Not to mention being outdated). But I love it and find it to be a whole lotta fun on the rocks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Last edited by rcbasher12; 10-20-2015 at 10:46 AM. |

So what's in the new tech that makes stuff from 5 years ago so outdated and non-competitive? I mean if people were competing and winning with this stuff 5-8 years ago, what's changed so much? I'm not trying to be defensive here...I'm just coming back from 5 years away from the hobby and when I left, the Scorpion with a lot of the stuff mentioned above was hot ticket items. I mean not the best of the best...but certainly not a slouch of a setup either. Plus I've been offered a setup that sounds similar so I'm trying to gauge whether or not I should jump. I don't have a price on the offer yet so that might just kill it right off...but if low enough I might grab it. I'm looking for a backyard rig that's capable but not trying to compete. My wallet can't handle the competition scene. Not with all my other hobbies.

Dig and 4ws are not legal in competition. a lot of things have changed in 5 years. Chassis tech has advanced, Under and overdrive gears and the xr mod have changed the game. The stuff from 5 years ago is heavy and had some odd suspension geometry. If your looking for a just for fun rig, a slightly modded ax10 can do a lot. Dig and 4ws add to the fun factor. you may also want look at the scx10.
