Default What's it worth?

CL ad. Says the rig is new. Axial Scorpion with the following:

Axial Rock Crawler -- New
Holmes Hobbies TorqueMaster 540 Brushed Motor
Vanquish SLW V2 Wheels 1.0" Wide
Tekin FX-R Brushed Speed Control
Spektrum DX3E Radio System 2.4GHz
HiTec HS-7954SH Ultra Torque Servo
MRC Super Brain Charger

Looks like 3 bodies included as well, 2 are beetles so that's a for me anyways.

I had a couple Scorpions before and really liked them. Hate that they are not made anymore and concerns me as far as parts available...but I don't plan on doing much more than some backyard bashing.

Even worth considering? Hoping to have $250-300 to get into a 1/10 crawler soon.

There was a similarly equipped (but I think it had a Novak brushless setup?) used AX10 for sale at my nearest hobby shop about 2 months ago and they were asking $250. Sounds like a reasonable option vs the kind of rig you could buy new for $250 (not much.)

Axial Rock Crawler -- New --? Da fuq does this mean, no value.
Holmes Hobbies TorqueMaster 540 Brushed Motor -- $50 to $70 used.
Vanquish SLW V2 Wheels 1.0" Wide -- $120 bucks
Tekin FX-R Brushed Speed Control -- $40 bucks
Spektrum DX3E Radio System 2.4GHz -- $30 to $40 bucks used, it's the "E". Not a bad radio by any means.
HiTec HS-7954SH Ultra Torque Servo -- $60 to $75 used
MRC Super Brain Charger -- Trash.

Add that up to about... $345 on the high side and make a choice. Axial has made a lot of "Rock Crawlers", so figure out which one they're selling and if it fits your budget buy it.

It's a Scorpion. That's why this is posted in the Scorpion section. Also why I said it was a Scorpion in my original post. The rest was just cut and pasted from the CL ad as it was typed.

As far as the charger...the rig appears to come with batteries, NiCd, but doesn't say for sure. They are in the picture though. I know they aren't Lipo...but they work just fine. That's what I used and what was popular when I ran my Scorpions years ago before Lipo was all the rage. So why is it worthless? Is it junk or just because it doesn't charge Lipo?

I assumed lipo's, so if you're going to use NiMH, it'll work just fine.

I'd say if you can pick that rig up for 250 or even 200, go for it!

I think that charger will do lipos with an external balancer

I wouldn't offer over $250 for that rig but I'm guessing it's "for sell" for $500 because they have $600 into it.
