Default Motor won't fit?

I have a stock Axial AX-10 scorpion and I bought a HH trailmaster sport. Problem is it won't fit the motor plate. Is there a way to remedy this? Or am I SOL?
Thanks

Are you sure you're trying to use holes that are straight across from each other?

I'm pretty sure. I looked at it multiple times to make sure. The motor doesn't sit right. I can get the silver metal piece where the pinion gear sits through fine but the circular area below is where I have trouble. Won't cross the hole. Sits very awkward.

Is the shoulder too large to fit in the hole? I've seen that happen where the motor plate needed to be opened up a little hit to allow the motor to fit.

Yes, that sounds exactly right. I didn't know it was a shoulder though. So what's the best way to open up the plate a bit? And thank you for the replies

A round ("rat tail") file or a small sanding drum on a dremel will make short work of it.
