Default What electronics do you guys recomend?

I'm looking into buying one and have searched for a few minutes.
What esc/servo/motor do I need to buy? I have a tx/rx.
Can someone post the links to some good stuff? I'd like to spend under 120 or so on electronics.
Thanks

To be honest, I run $205 in ESC and servo in mine, and wouldn't spend a dime less if I built another one...but if I were going budget, I'd say buy the Novak Rooster ESC ($90), and the JR ST126MG servo ($35). That'll put you at $125. The ESC will be all you ever need unless you decide to go BL, and it will provide plenty of power so your servo can do its job, and the servo will work as well about as well as anything without spending three times that amount.

For the money and performance you won't find a better deal.

I bought mine as more of a toy, and I have all the stuff in my comp truck that took me to about the $1k mark.

On the Scorpion, I used old parts and stuff I had laying around, but they are all cheap items and it works AWESOME....

Moped V16 ESC $20 Used
Integy Lathe 55T $Free (But $20 new, $10 used.)
Hitec HS-645MG Servo $20 Used ($40 new i think).

Get em here though.
Moped ($29) (overseas, 2 week wait, check the vendors, I know SOMEONE else has em.)

Servo and Axiom 55T Motor from JPCustom RCs $22 and $25

I think the only thing I would do different is use a TowerPro 645 if I had to buy one new....

This combo with a 6 cell 2/3A flat pack from CBP will get you about a full hour of thrashing and plenty of wheelspeed and torque. It actually can go just about everywhere my comp rig does, just takes a few more reverse Points and a occasional Gate.

This setup will cost $86 plus shipping, and thats a Elite 1500 2/3A pack, Good Axiom Motor, Good Metal Gear Servo and a tried and true ESC that you won't need a voltage regulator with.

I guess if he wanted to go brushless, but if he's new, most new guys would destroy a stock scorpion with a brushless setup, and those of us who are seasoned a bit, will destroy it with a brushless. I don't think it will handle that kind of power in stock form honestly.

Just my .02 cents.

Figure if he goes brushed he has to spend at least $80-90 for a esc to get drag brake. If you have to spend that much you might as well go brushless. He was asking for the "good stuff". I understand it might be a bit much power for the axial. He'll learn quick.

ive got a hytec fm 3ch convertable to spectrom radio,a hytec ultra torque servo, novak rooster with a 75t motor .the rooster has a drag brake and this radio is an awesome combo.this is very slow and precise without braking the bank.

I agree totally, I would have given similar advice. Only problem is, The good stuff kinda blows his $120 budget....

Weird, I thought the old saying was, "Going Fast Costs Money, How fast do you want to go?" Now we spend tons of cash to go slow and stay stopped.

I would recommend a mamba 25, gws outrunner, and 9 cell 2/3a pack for a fairly cheap intro into electronics. If you dont like brushless, the novak rooster crawler and a 55t motor on 6 cells does well.

rooster esc $90.00
integy 55 turn lathe $20.00
JR ST126MG $35.00

Its about $25 over your budget, but it would be well spent

I don't have my kit yet, but I ordered the mamba max, titanium hi tec servo, bm9 brushless and a R2 w/disconnect. I am waiting on holmes hobbies for the BEC or can I use the cool BEC?

The cool BEC will work well in a 2.2 rig.
