Some more pics It was an awesome build, nice clear instructions, everything was nicely packaged, except for a couple missing screws, no biggie, it's a well thought out kit, i will take it to the rocks tomorrow and get some vid and driving impressions |

Looks Good! I keep looking harder and harder at these kits. I was initially gonna hold out for just the tranny and axles but I'm seriously thinking about getting the whole kit. Good job! Let us know how it performs.

I know this is going to sound crazy, but are you going to remove the masking tape from the windows? |

So to update this build, so far i love this rig, only problem is the rear driveshaft keeps popping of when in a bind, this is a common problem with the ax-10 as i have found out, so to help while i get some hi lift driveshafts, i put a wire tie around the yoke and a dab of ca so it won't slip, i have also added weight to the front wheels 3oz worth and 1 1/2oz in the back, this has helped a lot on the bouncing around, i have gone back to an axiom 55 lathe motor, much smoother response than my outrunner, and last but not least i got some high clearance links from insanerc, they are beefy and really nice, i gained some extra clearance, i will take it for a test drive and report back, here are some pics.

Well after looking at EeePee's mods i decided to try some of them on my rig, first was lowering the c.o.g. , i have several sets of shocks but i have liked the way the stock ones worked, so i cut fuel tubing a little longer then the axial shock spacer provided and it shortened the shock 1", i was planning on using some losi springs but i ended using the wk red springs and they work awesome with the axial shocks, i reinstalled everything with the lower links as suggested by EP, it gave me a little over 2 1/2" belly clearance, and it looks very nice. I took it out for a test on my practice pile, and i only needed a little time to get used to the lower belly, it is a different rig now, i get very nice flex and i really like how the suspension cycles through the terrain. It is also much better at sidehilling, more stable. Some before and after pics and a couple of pics of it next to my Dabull from Double J.

I'll post some before and after video tomorrow, i also just tried some paragon fx2 tire traction additive, and it makes the already sticky and soft lizzards, softer, not sure if any performance gain oh this, but one thing is for sure the tires wear a hell of a lot faster:-( |

Well i haven't updated this thread in looong time, but i have to give this rig credit, i brought my ax 10 to my trip to florida and had a chance to attend a local comp, thanks to shaun(yota), emaxxjeremy, lushtrucker, scattman, and the rest of the guys there for letting me run with them, it was a really nice experience, plus i got a great 4th place overall finish, here is a new body and couple of pics of the comp and a short vid that scattman put together, enjoy [IMG] My old lid, this one got me the 4th place finish The vid, i am thinking of going lipo on this rig, i also will put either a sidewinder and better motor or a goat system for more wheelspeed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cqm3R9-JQ2k |
