Default Engine and Speedcontrol

Hello everyone.

I complet new to rock crawler. I just order a AX-10 Scorpion. I thougt this Kit would be the best Start for my Kids an me.

The question now is which engine and speedo would be the rightone.

We searched alot and now we are in the finale for ordering.

Servo:

Hitec HS 645 MG or HS 5646 MG

Engine:

LRP Truck Puller 2 or Integy 55T Lathe (handwounded or not?)

Speedcontrol:

Novak Rooster Crawler or LRP Truck

So whichone would you choose? We took those items because they seem fit right away. I didnt wanted to make it too complicatet because its a kids project and the goal is that the learn something and get a nice hobby

Greetings from Switzerland

André

55t lathe and rooster crawler are your best bet, you seem to be on the right track. Truck puller is way to slow from what I've read. Handwound or machine wound? Handwounds are better but not so much better its worth paying a whole lot for.

645mg is the better hitec servo, the 5645mg uses the same gear set as the 645 and with it's additional torque it seems to shred gear sets with ease. I greatly prefer the tower pro servos over the hitec budget servos. They have more torque and seem to have tougher gears for less.
